When to change your Beauty products

Women don't always see the need to change their beauty products except when it's finished or they start reacting negatively. Reactions such as rashes, acne, itchiness, dark lips, rashes around the lips, eye infection, etc. 

The expiry date of most beauty products could be years but in the actual sense, their shelf life are mostly 1-2 years.

Make-up products becomes a breeding ground for bacteria and fungi if not taking care of or when used for a long period. 
Irrespective of their expiry dates, it is important to replace your beauty products for a healthy and beautiful skin.

The question is how do I know I need to change my beauty products and when should I change them? Depending on the products some can be within 3-5 months or more before you change them or when they smell funny. That show that your make-up products need to be replaced.

Eyeliners

Your eyeliners both pencil and liquid have a about a year lifespan. Change your pencil eyeliners when it starts producing oil, or form a white coat. While your liquid liners should be replaced not more than six months.
Change your eyeliners when it start smelling funny, and shave the tip of the pencil liner before each use to get rid of dirt.

Mascara

The average life span is about 4-6months.
The best time to replace them is every 4-5 months and when it starts smelling awful or clumpy . Also don't ever share your mascara with anyone to avoid infection.

Foundation
 Liquids, creams and compacts foundation have a lifespan of about a year when kept away from direct sunlight and heats. 
Replace your liquid foundation as soon as it start to separate, change cream foundation when it thickens, and your compact when it begins to crack or produce plastic smell.

To avoid contamination and extend the life span, use a cotton wool to fetch and apply your liquid foundation. For compact foundation, wash the sponge with warm water weekly or twice a week.

Concealer

Concealer has a year life span, change your concealer once it begins to separate, becomes oily, or has an unpleasant smell.  

Lipsticks

The lifespan of your lipstick is around 8 months. Discard when it smells awful, and doesn't stick on the lips.

Makeup brushes

A year or more life span depending on the type you are using. Natural brushes can last forever. Wash once a week with warm water and soap. 

Synthetic brushes have a year life span and should be cleaned twice a week with alcohol based cleanser. Discard when it becomes tough, not applying powders thoroughly.

Eye shadows

They have about 1-2 years life span, exception of cream with 1 year span. Discard once the powder begins to crumble or has white film.Cream eyeshadows thicken and has a funny smell.
