How to stop restless leg syndrome

So I'm fond of shaking my leg and that's because I enjoy doing it. But a friend told me that the reason why I am shaking my leg is because I'm anaemic.

I read it up too and iron deficiency anemia was said to be responsible for a restless leg syndrome. My friend told me to buy iron tablets and use it for five days that I will be fine.

I've taken the drug, but I am still shaking my legs lol, so I'm throwing the question here for more understanding.

After taken iron drugs nothing changed, what could have gone wrong?

Hi,

Firstly, self prescription is not a good idea because you didn't see a doctor to confirm if you were actually anemic. Assumptions are not healthy responses towards ones health.

You should have seen a doctor, and run a blood test to confirm if you were actually anemic as iron deficiency is just one of the types of anemia, and not the only thing responsible for anemia.

Restless leg is having a strong desire to move your legs. Restless can cause you to have bug movement or tingling sensation in your feet. It is usually worst at night when you find it difficult to sleep.

While iron deficiency has been linked to anemia, the causes of restless leg syndrome are not fully understood. But studies have shown that people with restless leg syndrome had iron deficiency anemia.

Other likely casues are; fibromyalgia, nerve damage, pregnancy, smoking, etc.

Kindly see a doctor for proper investigation, and if result shows that you are fine, your restless leg might just be related to other issues or an habit that was formed over time.

Instead of abusing drugs, foods like beef, animal organs, green leafy vegetables are good natural sources of iron.
