Good morning... pelvic inflammatory disease also called PID is an infection affecting the female reproductive organs such as ;
The causes of PID can be as a result of bacterial infection usually gonorrhoea and chlamydia contracted when having unprotected sex (sexually transmitted).
Other non sexual causes of PID is when the cervix is breach as a result of having an abortion (s), miscarriage, during intrauterine device (IUD) insertion and child birth.
Kindly note that a pelvic scan is not enough, kindly go to a reliable hospital and present your result to a gynaecologist for further investigation and treatment.
