Tips to Combat the Aging process

Tips on how to combat the Aging process

Hold on!  We are not ageist, but in an aging-focused society, the hustle to keep looking like sweet 16 is real. And that’s why we are sharing these tips to ease the struggle and of course age beautifully. The deal is to start using anti-aging skincare products in your twenties to slow the visible signs of aging or premature aging like fine lines, wrinkles, and dry skin, among others.

From your thirties, the aging signs become more pronounced and can be pretty hard to deal with. You begin to lose muscle mass coupled with skin aging in your forties, believe it or not, none of these experiences are pleasant. One thing is that you can always manage each phase with tender love and care (TLC). You may be wondering how so.

Anti-aging products

Again, use anti-aging products. We can’t stress this enough not because there’s some magical transformation about using them, but because they help prevent and slow down aging appearance such as fine lines, wrinkles, and dry skin. An evidenced-based anti-aging product is vitamin A-derivatives or retinol; especially the potent class which is tretinion. Incorporating it into your regimen can significantly curb the aging process and its effects. Using products containing vitamin C derivatives or Niacinamide improves not only the skin barrier but your skin appearance.

Sun protection

According to studies, 90 percent of causes of skin aging are a result of excessive exposure to sunlight. Harmful sun rays result in hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone. To protect your skin from sun damage and premature aging, make sunscreen your go-to product before leaving the house. Remember to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30.

Moisturize

As you age, your skin’s natural ability to retain water and produce natural sebum reduces, hence, your skin tends to dry out faster. To keep the skin hydrated, use products that contain the skin’s natural lipids such as ceramide, peptide, glycerin, and hyaluronic acid. You can also use plant or carrier oil as a moisturizer.

Routine exercise

Most people lose muscle strength as they age, this usually occurs because they use their muscles less often. As such, make routine exercise your watchword. Walk, weight train, swim, and dance for at least 30 minutes daily.

Sleep

Like it or hate it, sleep cannot be over-rated. It is good for your brain, mind, mood, health, and skin. Sleeping for at least 7 hours is refreshing and rejuvenating. If you struggle with getting quality sleep, speak with your doctor about it or adopt effective methods to make you sleep naturally.
