  2. It is not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy.
  3. It can interact with certain medications, so it is crucial to inform your doctor about all the drugs you are taking.
  4. It is not effective against viral infections like the common cold or flu. 
  5. Before taking Flagyl, inform your healthcare provider if you have any history of neurological disorders. 
  6. It can cause numbness, tingling, or understanding of what is said to you.
  7. It can cause fever, neck stiffness, and increased sensitivity to light. 
  8. It can cause life-threatening liver problems in people with Cockayne syndrome. If you have this condition, stop taking Flagyl and contact your doctor if you have signs of liver failure- nausea, stomach pain (upper right side), dark urine, clay-colored stools, or jaundice. 
  9. It can cause depression, trouble sleeping, and feeling irritable.
  10. Flagyl can affect the results of some medical tests. Tell any doctor or pharmacist who treats you that you are using it. 
  11. It may cause a darkening of urine, which is usually harmless.
  12. Do not share flagyl with another person, even if they have the same symptoms you have.
