Silverbird/Eucalyptus Essential oil
I was researching something online when I stumbled on Silverbird a famous oil used in every household were babies live.
Growing up, our parents used Eucalyptus essential oil known to most Nigerians as Silverbird to treat nasal congestion, prevent cold, etc.
Being an essential oil, Eucalyptus or Silverbird is not supposed to be used directly on the skin to avoid irritation. I think now I understand why babies cry so hard when applied on their body or face.
Also, eucalyptus should be added in drops to a carrier oil like olive oil, or to warm or hot water.
How we survived things our parents did ignorantly is still a misery.
If you know anyone still using this directly on the skin without diluting please inform them that it causes mild to serious irritation. Most especially to babies with delicate skin.
