According to Statista, a renowned data and research company, animals were named the deadliest based on the number of people killed by the animals per year.
The top three deadliest animals are, mosquito, human, and snake. Who would have thought that mosquito is the top most deadliest of them all.
1. Malaria is an endemic, and life- threatening disease, and are transmitted to people through the bites of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes.
2. There was an estimated 229 million cases of malaria around the globe in 2019.
3. Estimated number of death due to malaria stood at 409 000 in 2019, with African region with high share of the global malaria burden.
4. Aside from the number of death recorded, according to WHO, the financial burden involved in the control malaria and elimination is estimated at 3 billion dollars in 2019. And contributions from governments of endemic countries amounted to 900 million dollars.
