Child Marriage Ban

Finally, Saudi Arabia has banned underage marriage. The minimum age for marriage is now 18 years. For a long time, Saudi Arabia is known for validating underage marriages. 

According to their high court, if an underaged couple most marry, it will be accessed by the court to confirm that the marriage is in the interest of the young couple, and also would not be in any harm's way.

According to UNICEF Underage marriage is a form of child abuse and human right abuse. But globally, the level of Underage marriages is beginning to decline.

I hope that will be passed into law some day in Nigeria. Or rather I hope stricter measures will be taken against anyone found guilty of marrying a girl child or boy child below 18 years  of age.
